In addition to Marilyn’s film/TV credits, she has sold (first time) novels “Chasing the Jaguar” to Harper Collins, “Hungry Woman in Paris” to Grand Central Publishing, and the “Ave Maria Bed & Breakfast” to Hachette Publishing, and the “Last Ride of Caleb O’Toole” to Source Books 2013.Recently, Marilyn has been developing the “Brides’ March” for Lifetime Television as well as a limited television series.She also was a speaker at the International Women’s Writers Festival in 2014., a thought-provoking science-fiction novel, to discuss cadmium poisoning, a widespread health issue that goes unnoticed by the medical community and possibly even protected by government agencies. As of late, she is also producing the YA book “Choke” by Diana Lopez as a movie for Lifetime to be made in spring 2014 which will air summer 2014.
Marilyn is in development for “Lola Goes to Roma.” She is also featured in the book “Write Now! She is the co-author of a relationship-based, screenwriting guide called “Dating Your Character,” about an organic approach to character creation for Stairway Press’s Summer 2015 catalog.
Panelists will use personal stories to highlight the genre of testimonio as a form of writing for empowerment and activism, as a way to teach in our classrooms, and as a tool to engage in communal healing practices.
